Sustainable Systems

Sustainable systems:

Can conserve resources.

Can produce no waste.

Can produce no unaccountable costs.

Can produce no unaccountable effects.

Can be beneficial parts of the cosmos.

Can contribute to equitable resource apportionment.

Can facilitate and nurture the evolution of humans.

Can be harmless.

But, humans make unsustainable systems.

We can do better.

Humans Must Cooperate

Humans must cooperate, and make massive changes, or face the collapse of the biosphere; and our own extinction.  Conservatives will obstruct, because they can't imagine another way. They will have to be defeated and controlled. Destructive linear systems will have to be dismantled or modified to be nondestructive circular systems.

Building circular systems that are sustainable and compatible with nature will not be easy. We have enormous investments in unsustainable linear systems.

Suggestions for a Sustainable Way

The earth is a closed circular system. Human production and consumption systems must be compatible with nature.

  • Develop worldwide, regional and local legal systems, to identify, prevent and stop harm.
  • Phase out incentives and support for fossil fuels.
  • Phase out incentives and support for harmful food production and distribution practices.
  • Develop education, incentives and support for regenerative organic agriculture, forestry, fisheries and seas.
  • Develop unlimited healthcare assistance for every individual.
  • Develop unlimited assistance for learning for every individual. The purpose of education is helping individuals learn.
  • Develop education, incentives and support to reduce human reproduction to replacement or less.
  • Build sustainable local and regional electrical power systems.
  • Build sustainable local and regional water management systems.
  • Build sustainable local and regional waste management systems.
